California Family Law Case Participant Enrollment Form (FL-666): Versions and Filing

To get online access to your Sacramento family law case, file the Family Law Case Participant Enrollment Form, known as FL-666, with the William R. Ridgeway Family Relations Courthouse. The one-page form links you to the court’s Public Case Access System so you can view filings, hearing dates, minute orders, and confidential Family Court Services mediator reports. Processing takes about three business days, after which the court emails a confirmation that your account is active.1Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento. Family Law Home

Which Version of the Form You Need

There are two versions of the enrollment form, and the rules depend on your role and when the case was filed.2Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento. Public Case Access System

  • Attorneys on cases filed after January 1, 2015: if you already subscribe to any Sacramento family law case, the system links you to new cases automatically once you become attorney of record. No form needed.
  • Attorneys who have never subscribed to a Sacramento family law case: file the attorney version of FL-666 once. After that, new post-2015 cases link automatically.
  • Attorneys on cases filed before January 1, 2015: file FL-666 separately for each older case you want to access.
  • Self-represented parties: use the party version of the enrollment form, linked from the Public Case Access System’s family law page. File a separate form for each case, and attach a copy of a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license.

The attorney version is on the Sacramento Superior Court website at saccourt.ca.gov.3Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento. Family Law Case Participant Enrollment Form

What the Form Asks For

The form is short. You’ll provide:3Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento. Family Law Case Participant Enrollment Form

  • Case identification: the names of the petitioner (or plaintiff), respondent (or defendant), any claimant, and the court’s case number.
  • The enrollment checkbox, declaring that you represent a named party and are asking the court to create an account or subscribe you to the case. Attorneys add their California State Bar number.
  • Street address, city, state, and zip code for your case participant profile.
  • A current email address. The court sends your confirmation here, and if your email later changes you must file a new form to keep access.
  • Your signature on the confidentiality acknowledgment. By signing, you agree that Family Court Services mediation reports are not part of the public file and that you will not disclose their contents to anyone outside the parties, their attorneys, and court professionals without a court order. The court can impose penalties for unauthorized disclosure.

To end your access, check the unsubscribe box instead. Attorneys who unsubscribe must also file a Substitution of Attorney or otherwise formally withdraw.3Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento. Family Law Case Participant Enrollment Form

What Happens After You File

The court typically processes enrollment forms within about three working days. When yours clears, you’ll get a confirmation email showing the account is active and linked to the case.1Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento. Family Law Home

Once enrolled, you can log in to the Public Case Access System and see case information that is hidden from the general public. That includes Findings and Orders After Hearing, minute orders, Family Court Services mediator reports, case participant details, and upcoming calendar events. The court has discontinued online search and download fees, so using the system costs nothing after enrollment.2Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento. Public Case Access System

When You’ll Need to File Another Form

Your enrollment stays active while the case is open and you remain a participant, but a few changes require a fresh form. File a new one if your email address changes, or you lose confirmations and portal access. Self-represented parties need a separate form for each family law case, so if two matters are open at once, submit a form and ID copy for each. Attorneys first subscribed on a post-January 1, 2015 case do not have to repeat the process for additional post-2015 cases; the automatic subscription takes over. Attorneys leaving a case should file the unsubscribe form along with a Substitution of Attorney.1Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento. Family Law Home
