There is no Delaware unemployment extension available in 2026. The state’s Extended Benefits program is not triggered on, no federal extension program is in effect, and claimants who exhaust their 26 weeks of regular benefits have only a few narrow alternatives unless Delaware’s jobless rate climbs sharply.
Why No Extension Is Active Right Now
Delaware’s Extended Benefits program only switches on when the state’s three-month average seasonally adjusted unemployment rate reaches 8% or higher.1A Better Delaware. What Would Happen If The Extension Did Trigger

Extended Benefits You would not need to file a new application. Eligible claimants who have exhausted their regular benefits roll into extended payments automatically, as long as they keep up their weekly certifications.8Delaware Business Times.
