Dustin and Cherie Walker: Muskogee Charges, Plea, and Trial

In the Dustin and Cherie Walker Muskogee case, the Oklahoma stepfather pleaded guilty in March 2026 to sexually abusing his 11-year-old stepdaughter and fathering the baby she delivered at home, while his wife remains jailed without bond ahead of a July 2026 trial on charges of enabling the abuse and neglecting the six other children in the house.

How the Case Came to Light

On August 16, 2025, an 11-year-old girl gave birth to a full-term baby at the family’s home in Muskogee. Prosecutors say she delivered alone, had received no prenatal care, and had not seen a doctor in more than a year.1NBC News. Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson said she learned of the case after the child was taken to the hospital. “I was horror-stricken to find out it’s an 11-year-old little girl who’s given birth,” Hutson told reporters.3KVIA. Family of 11-Year-Old Who Gave Birth Speaks Out

All seven children in the household — the 11-year-old, her newborn, and five other children ages 2, 4, 6, 7, and 9 — were removed on August 19, 2025. On August 25, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reported DNA results showing a 99.9% certainty that Dustin Walker, the girl’s stepfather, was the baby’s father.4ABC 33/40. The Charges

After the DNA results came back, prosecutors amended the charges. Dustin Walker was charged with sexual abuse of a child under 12. Cherie Walker was charged with enabling child sexual abuse. Each also faced six counts of felony child neglect: one for the failure to provide medical care and supervision to the 11-year-old during the birth, and five for the other children. Each count carries a potential sentence of up to life in prison.1NBC News. Oklahoma Man Arrested After 11-Year-Old Stepdaughter Gives Birth

Dustin Walker’s Guilty Plea

His attorney, Ben Hilfiger, said the defense took that route because no useful deal was on the table. “Normally we will have a plea agreement when we go to plea our clients, but in this case I didn’t feel like there was one that we could get that would be useful or helpful in any way,” Hilfiger said, calling the possible punishment “wide open” and acknowledging that multiple life terms are possible.8KJRH. The counts are classified as “85% crimes” under Oklahoma law, meaning Walker must serve at least 85% of whatever sentence the judge imposes before he is eligible for parole. Prosecutors noted that a life sentence in Oklahoma is calculated as 45 years, so a life term would require him to serve a minimum of 38 years and three months.7Law & Crime. A Third Defendant

A neighbor who served as a caretaker for the Walker children, Michelle Justus, was also charged.
