The Florida DCF fax number for submitting SNAP, Medicaid, and Temporary Cash Assistance documents is 1-866-886-4342.1Florida Department of Children and Families. Contact Us It is a single toll-free line that serves every county in the state, routed to the Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency Mail Center in Ocala, where pages are scanned into the statewide system and attached to your case.
There are no separate regional fax numbers for DCF’s six service regions, despite what some older listings suggest. Everything goes through the central mail center. One exception worth knowing: the Applying for Assistance office keeps a separate fax line for initial applications at (850) 922-2993, though the statewide toll-free number accepts applications too.1Florida Department of Children and Families. What to Put on Every Page You Fax
The mail center matches faxes to case files using the identifying information you write on the pages. Without it, your documents can sit in a queue while your deadline runs out. On every page, write:
- Your ACCESS or case number
- Your full name
- Your date of birth
- Your phone number2Florida Department of Children and Families. Applying for Assistance
Start with a cover sheet that repeats that information and says what you’re sending. If DCF asked for proof of income, say so on the cover sheet so the person scanning knows how to route it. If you don’t have a case number yet, DCF’s system also accepts an application number or alien number as the identifier.3MyACCESS. Anonymous Document Upload
Reporting a change in income, household size, or address? Fill out the Change Report form (CF-ES 2033) before you fax. It lives on the Economic Self-Sufficiency Forms page at myflfamilies.com.4Florida Department of Children and Families. Economic Self Sufficiency Forms Complete every field. A half-filled form creates the same delays as missing pages.
Keep the Confirmation Receipt
Hold on to the transmission page your fax machine prints. It shows the date, time, and whether the fax went through, and it’s your proof of timely submission if DCF later says it never received your documents.
Give the system about three business days for faxed pages to show up in your file.2Florida Department of Children and Families. If You Don’t Have a Fax Machine
DCF actually prefers you upload documents online through the MyACCESS portal, which handles files up to 32 MB in common formats like PDF, JPG, or PNG. You don’t need a portal account to use the anonymous upload; you need your name, date of birth, and one identifying number such as a case, application, Social Security, or alien number.3MyACCESS. Anonymous Document Upload It’s faster than faxing and removes the risk of a transmission that doesn’t go through.
If online isn’t an option, DCF partners with community organizations across Florida that offer free access to fax machines, computers, printers, and copiers specifically for submitting benefit documents. Find one through the Community Partner Search tool on the MyACCESS site.5MyACCESS. Community Partner Search Public libraries often provide fax services too, sometimes for a per-page fee. Partner staff can help you complete forms and figure out what DCF is asking for, but they can’t decide your eligibility; case questions go to the Customer Call Center.
You can also mail documents to the same mail center: Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency Mail Center, P.O. Box 1770, Ocala, FL 34478-1770.2Florida Department of Children and Families. What Happens If DCF Doesn’t Get Your Documents in Time
DCF sends a written notice whenever it needs verification, and that notice sets a deadline. Miss the deadline without requesting an extension and your application will be denied because DCF cannot establish eligibility.6Cornell Law Institute. Florida Administrative Code 65A-1.205 – Eligibility Determination Process This is where your fax confirmation earns its keep. A denial based on missing documents can sometimes be reversed if you can show the pages were sent before the cutoff.
If your benefits are denied or reduced and you think DCF got it wrong, you have 90 days from the Notice of Case Action to request a fair hearing. Requests can go through a local DCF office, the Customer Call Center, or directly to the Appeal Hearings Section.7Florida Department of Children and Families.
