A Fooda charge on your credit card is almost always a workplace meal purchase: a lunch ordered through your office’s Fooda-powered food program, a payment at an in-office popup restaurant, or a recurring Foodsby Unlimited membership fee billed to the card saved in your Fooda account.1Fooda. Terms of Use Fooda is a Chicago-based corporate dining platform, which is why some statements show the charge as “Fooda Chicago.”
What the Charge Is Likely For
Fooda runs several workplace food programs, and the specific reason for the charge depends on which one your employer uses.
- A popup restaurant purchase. Many offices host rotating restaurant popups in lobbies or breakrooms, and employees pay at the point of sale or through the app using whichever card is on file.2Fooda. Fooda Price Index
- An individual delivery order. Fooda’s office delivery service consolidates individual orders into one delivery, and each order is charged separately to the person who placed it.3Fooda. Office Lunch Delivery
- Your share of a subsidized meal. If your employer covers only part of the meal, the remainder hits your personal card automatically at checkout.4Fooda. Subsidies
- A Foodsby Unlimited subscription. This membership renews each calendar month and bills the card on file until you cancel.1Fooda. Terms of Use
If the charge looks unfamiliar, check whether you ever created a Fooda account, including at a previous job. The app stores payment information and continues to authorize transactions on the saved card until the account is updated or closed.1Fooda. Terms of Use Fooda also acquired Foodsby in September 2024 and Peach in July 2025, so charges you previously saw under either of those names may now appear as Fooda.5GeekWire. How to Cancel or Request a Refund
Fooda’s general policy is that all sales are final, with refunds issued only at the company’s discretion in what it calls “extraordinary circumstances.”1Fooda. Terms of Use The specifics vary by product.
- Regular food orders can be canceled on the Fooda website or app under your order history by selecting “Cancel Order,” though the terms don’t guarantee a refund once an order is completed.6Fooda. FAQs
- Catering orders are fully refundable if canceled at least 48 hours before the event; within that window, no refund is available. Cancellations have to go through Fooda directly rather than the app.1Fooda. Terms of Use
- Pre-paid popup vouchers are refundable only before use, at face value minus a 10% processing fee, and the 5% service fee charged at purchase is non-refundable.1Fooda. Terms of Use
- Foodsby Unlimited can be canceled anytime through your profile. You keep the benefits through the end of the current billing period but won’t be refunded for it, so cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next month’s charge.1Fooda. Terms of Use
