How to Get a Copy of Your NJ Annual Report: Cost, Speed, and Mail Option

To get a copy of your NJ annual report, use the Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services (DRES) Business Records Service portal. Copies run $0.10 per page and are delivered electronically, usually within 30 minutes of ordering. If you need the copy certified for a court, bank, or agency, add $25 per document for corporations, nonprofits, and limited partnerships, or $50 per document for LLCs.1Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services. What to Have Ready Before You Order

The state locates your filings by a 10-digit Entity ID, assigned by DRES when your business was formed or authorized to operate in New Jersey.2Business.NJ.gov. If you don’t have the number, look it up for free through the state’s Business Name Search tool. Search by the exact legal name on file, not a trade name or DBA, or you may pull up the wrong entity.4New Jersey Government Services. Business Name Search

Two more things to settle before you start. First, decide whether you need a plain copy or a certified one. A plain copy is fine for internal records or general reference. A certified copy carries the state seal and is what courts, lenders, and government agencies usually require. Second, know which year’s report you need. The portal stores your full filing history, so you can pull older reports as well as the most recent one.

One thing worth checking before you order a full copy: if you only need a snapshot of the business — its status, formation date, registered agent, and filing history — a status report through the same portal is usually enough and faster.3Department of the Treasury, Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services. Ordering Through the Business Records Service

Go to the DRES Business Records Service portal, which handles public document requests for New Jersey business entities.5NJ Department of the Treasury. Enter your 10-digit Entity ID or the business name. The system returns the entity’s filing history. Scroll to the annual report for the year you need, select it, and add it to your order. You can include more than one document in a single transaction.

Pay at checkout by credit card or electronic check. The system displays all applicable fees before you finalize.3Department of the Treasury, Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services. Most orders are ready within 30 minutes, though some may take up to 24 hours; if yours isn’t immediately available, a second email arrives when it is.

Everything ordered online is delivered electronically. Nothing is mailed. Your documents remain available for download for 30 days, so save them to your own computer or cloud storage while the link is live.

If You Filed Recently Through the Annual Reports Service

If you filed your annual report yourself online, you can download a copy directly from the Annual Reports Service site for up to 90 days after filing. After that window closes, use the Business Records Service instead.

What the Copy Will Cost

The copy fee is $0.10 per page.1Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services. Copies of Business Entity Documents Including Copies of Annual Reports Because the total depends on the length of the document, you won’t see the exact charge until you place the order. Annual reports tend to be short, so the per-page cost is small.

Certification adds a flat fee per document:

  • Corporations, nonprofits, and limited partnerships: $25 per document
  • LLCs: $50 per document

Certification fees are on top of the per-page copying charge.1Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services. The per-page copy fee is separate from the $75 fee to file an annual report. That filing fee only applies when you’re submitting a new report, not when you’re requesting a copy of one already on file.6Business.NJ.gov. Taxes and Annual Report

If You Need It Faster

Standard turnaround is usually quick enough that expedited service is unnecessary. When a deadline forces the issue, DRES offers tiered surcharges on top of the regular fees:7Cornell University Legal Information Institute. New Jersey Administrative Code 17:35-1.4 – Fees for Expedited Service

  • 8.5 business hours: $15 surcharge for one to three annual report copies, scaling up to $30 for ten copies
  • Same-day service for LLC-related requests: $50 per transaction
  • Two-business-hour service: $500 per transaction
  • One-business-hour service: $1,000 per transaction

The two-hour and one-hour tiers exist for closings and court deadlines, and the fees reflect that.
