If Your Registration Was Stolen
A stolen registration card is a bigger problem than a lost one. The card carries your full name, home address, VIN, plate number, and vehicle details. Someone with all of that could have keys cut, target your address, or use the information for fraud tied to other vehicles.
File a police report before you request the replacement. The report creates a record that protects you if the information is misused later. Driving Without Your Registration Card
