To get a Georgia DNR Customer ID number, create a free account with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources through the Go Outdoors Georgia website, by calling 1-800-366-2661, or by visiting a local license agent in person. The system assigns the number automatically once you provide your name, date of birth, and Social Security Number (or an alternative ID if you are not a U.S. citizen). That number is permanent and identifies you every time you buy or renew a hunting, fishing, or boating license in Georgia.1Georgia Department of Natural Resources. What to Have Ready Before You Apply
The account form is short, but it will stop you if any of the required fields are blank. Gather these first:
- Your full legal name (first, last, and middle if you use one)
- Date of birth
- Mailing address, including county
- Social Security Number
Georgia law requires the DNR to collect your SSN with any license application. The agency shares it with the Department of Human Services for child support enforcement purposes only.2Justia. If you are not a U.S. citizen, you can substitute one of the following for the SSN: a passport number, U.S. travel visa number, or green card number.3Georgia.gov. Renew or Replace a Fishing or Hunting License

Creating Your Account Online
The Go Outdoors Georgia website is the DNR’s official licensing portal and the fastest route to a Customer ID.5Go Outdoors Georgia. Official Georgia Fishing and Hunting Licenses
- Open the site and click “Create / Manage Your Account.”
- The system first checks whether you already exist in its records. Enter your last name, date of birth, and one identifier: the last four digits of your SSN, a driver’s license number, or another accepted document.
- If nothing matches, you’ll be routed into the new-customer form. Fill in your full name, date of birth, mailing address, and SSN or alternative ID.1Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Go Outdoors Georgia – Create Customer
- Review every field before submitting. A typo in your name or birth date can create a duplicate account, and duplicates are a headache to untangle later.
The system assigns your Customer ID the moment you submit. Save it somewhere you’ll find it again. You’ll use it to log in every time you buy or manage a license.
