Winter Parking, December 1 Through March 1
Winter season stacks extra rules on top of the standard overnight ban. From December 1 through March 1, overnight parking is not allowed on any through highway or bus route, regardless of any permit you hold. Some residential streets carry signs reading “No Parking When Snow Falls 4 Inches or More.” Once accumulation on the road reaches four inches, the posted side is off-limits day and night until the snow is cleared. Other residential blocks restrict parking to one side for the winter, sometimes alternating the prohibited side each month. A posted sign always overrides the general permit and alternate-side rules.
Snow Emergencies

Winter Violation Fines
Winter fines climb with repeats: $50 for a first violation, $100 for a second, and $150 for a third or later, with towing possible at that point. Towing and storage fees are separate.
What a Ticket or Tow Costs
A standard overnight parking citation is $20. Unpaid tickets accrue further fees, and the city enforces against drivers who let citations pile up.
