Which Test You’re Booking

Booking a Road Test

Vehicle Requirements
You supply the vehicle, and it must be road-worthy. Before the driving portion starts, the examiner does a basic safety check and may ask you to demonstrate that specific features work. Any of the following gets the test cancelled on the spot as “out of order”:

Common Reasons People Fail
The mistakes that end tests are usually mundane, not dramatic:
- Skipping shoulder checks on lane changes, merges, and turns. A mirror glance isn’t enough; examiners want to see your head turn.
- Rolling stops. Wheels have to stop completely before the stop line.
- Poor lane positioning: drifting, turning from the wrong lane, or changing lanes too late.
- Wrong speed. Speeding hurts you, but so does driving well below the posted limit.
- Weak intersection scanning, especially missing pedestrians at crosswalks.
