To pay an Oklahoma City Municipal Court ticket, you have four options: online at app.okc.gov, by phone at (405) 297-3898, in person at 701 Couch Drive, or by mail to the same address. Before you choose one, read the next paragraph. Paying the ticket is treated as a guilty plea, the conviction is reported to your driving record, and once the payment goes through you lose access to driving school and to a not-guilty plea. If either of those might be a better fit, handle that first.1City of Oklahoma City. Pay Ticket
Look Up What You Actually Owe
The amount printed on the paper citation is not the full amount. Oklahoma law requires courts to add assessments and court costs on top of the base fine, so pull up your case before paying to see the real total.
Go to app.okc.gov and search by case number, driver’s license number, name, or parking ticket number. The case number is on the citation itself. If you’ve lost the paper, name or license number will find any open cases attached to you.
Paying Online
The online portal is open 24 hours a day. Pull up your case, accept a plea, review the total, and enter your card. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover are accepted, credit or debit, and there’s no processing fee.1City of Oklahoma City. Pay Ticket
The court itself warns on this page that paying online may count as a conviction reported to your driving record. If you want to look into driving school or fight the ticket, call or visit before you click pay.1City of Oklahoma City. Pay Ticket
Paying by Phone
Call the Municipal Court at (405) 297-3898. The phone system takes Visa, MasterCard, and Discover, credit or debit. Have your citation number and card ready, and keep something to write with because you’ll get a confirmation number at the end.2City of Oklahoma City. Municipal Court
Paying in Person
The courthouse is at 701 Couch Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73102. Customer service windows are open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., closed on city-observed holidays.2City of Oklahoma City. Municipal Court
In person is the only way to pay with cash. The windows also accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, checks, and money orders. Bring the citation if you still have it so the clerk can locate your case faster.1City of Oklahoma City. Pay Ticket
Paying by Mail
Send a check or money order payable to the City of Oklahoma City to Municipal Court, 701 Couch Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73102. Write your citation number on the memo line and enclose a copy of the ticket. The court also accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover by mail.1City of Oklahoma City. Pay Ticket
Mail takes several days each way, so this works best when your court date is at least two weeks out. Certified Mail with Return Receipt gives you proof of delivery if the deadline is tight.
Driving School Instead of a Conviction
Before you pay, check whether you qualify for the Driver Improvement Program. It dismisses the case entirely once you finish an approved driving course, so there’s no conviction and nothing added to your driving record. You have to enroll before paying, because the payment closes the case and ends the option.3City of Oklahoma City. Driving School
You qualify only if all of these are true:
- Your license is valid. Suspended licenses are not eligible.
- You have one active violation. The program covers a single ticket at a time.
- You haven’t used the OKC Municipal Court Driver Improvement Program in the past three years.
- You enter a plea of no contest or guilty and sign the enrollment form.
- You pay a $50 administrative fee and a $50 driving school fee, plus court costs, when you sign up.
Enroll online at the court’s driving school page or in person at the customer service windows. Anyone under 18 needs a parent, legal guardian, or attorney to co-sign the form or appear with them. Commercial driver’s license holders should know the violation is still reported to Service Oklahoma by law, even with the program.3City of Oklahoma City. Driving School
If you don’t finish the course by the due date, a conviction is entered automatically, Service Oklahoma is notified, and the City Prosecutor is informed.3City of Oklahoma City. Driving School
If You Want to Fight the Ticket
A not-guilty plea takes the case to trial. You post a bond before your arraignment date equal to the full ticket cost plus a $35 bond fee. Contact the court if you can’t afford the cash bond. If you win, the bond is refunded; if the court finds you guilty, the bond goes toward your fine and costs.2City of Oklahoma City. Municipal Court
If You Can’t Afford to Pay in Full
Oklahoma law requires the court to put you on a payment plan if it finds you’re experiencing financial hardship, or if you can show you’re enrolled in a federal or state assistance program such as Social Security or SNAP. The court also sends a release to Service Oklahoma so your license isn’t suspended while you’re paying.4New York Codes, Rules and Regulations. Oklahoma Code Title 47 – 6-206 Authority of Department to Suspend License or Privilege
The court can also hold a Rule 8 hearing to evaluate your ability to pay, and at that hearing may suspend all fines and costs or refer you to a community work program. The protection depends on appearing and asking. If you’re put on a plan and stop paying when you could pay, the court can send a new suspension request to Service Oklahoma.
What Happens If You Just Ignore It
The court can issue a bench warrant for your arrest, which means any later contact with law enforcement, including a routine traffic stop, can lead to being taken into custody. The court also notifies Service Oklahoma, which suspends your driving privileges. Under Oklahoma law, the suspension takes effect no earlier than 180 days after Service Oklahoma sends you notice, so there is a window to resolve the ticket before losing your license.4New York Codes, Rules and Regulations. Oklahoma Code Title 47 – 6-206 Authority of Department to Suspend License or Privilege
Reinstatement after a suspension requires applying to Service Oklahoma, showing proof that the fine and court costs are paid or that the court issued a release, and paying separate reinstatement fees on top.4New York Codes, Rules and Regulations. If Your Case Is Already in Warrant Status
OKC Municipal Court runs a penalty reduction program for older citations. As of January 2026, the program has been extended through December 31, 2027, and applies to citations issued before December 31, 2022 that are in warrant status. It covers traffic and criminal offenses, and you need to be able to pay the reduced amount in full.2City of Oklahoma City. Municipal Court
