Have This Ready Before You Dial
Calls move faster when you have the identifiers in front of you. The most useful one is your case number, a mix of letters and numbers that usually includes the filing year, court type, and a sequence. It appears on any document the court has sent you: summons, notices of hearing, filing confirmations.
For traffic calls, grab your citation number from the ticket itself. It’s different from a case number, and staff use it to pull up the fine, payment status, and any hearing date. If you’re calling about someone else’s case, you’ll need the full legal name of the person involved, because the system matches on exact spelling.
For an upcoming hearing, know the date and, if you have it, the division or courtroom number. For passport questions, have your travel date ready, since that determines whether expedited processing applies.
When You Don’t Need to Call
Many tasks the phone line used to handle now sit online through the Clerk’s website. The eCaseView system searches court records, shows upcoming court dates, and displays filed documents without a wait.9Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, Palm Beach County. Online Services The portal also handles traffic ticket payments and payment plans, criminal fines and fees, e-filing, marriage license applications, jury duty rescheduling, and foreclosure auction bidding.
Zoom hearings are another common reason people call. To confirm whether a hearing is remote, look up the case in eCaseView. Traffic cases show Zoom details under the Court Events tab; other case types show them in the Notice of Hearing or Order Setting Hearing under Dockets & Documents.10Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, Palm Beach County. Zoom Hearings If you can’t find it there, call (561) 355-2996 before your court date. Showing up in person for a Zoom hearing, or logging in for one that required attendance, can result in being marked absent.
Interpreter Requests
The 15th Judicial Circuit provides spoken-language court interpreters at no cost when limited English proficiency would prevent full participation in a proceeding where a fundamental interest is at stake. That covers criminal cases, juvenile matters, domestic violence injunctions, mental health proceedings, and other situations the court determines warrant an interpreter.1115th Circuit. Sign language interpreters are also provided at no cost under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Submit the request at least seven days before your hearing when possible. A day-of request may not be fillable, and the hearing can be delayed as a result.1115th Circuit. Court Interpreters
Help If You Don’t Have a Lawyer
If you’re representing yourself, the Clerk’s Self-Service Center offers free help with court procedures. Centers operate at the Main Courthouse (Room 1.2500) and at every branch, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A Navigator is available by appointment at the West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, and Delray Beach locations and can help with paperwork for most family law and county civil matters. Book by calling (561) 355-7048. The Navigator cannot give legal advice or appear in court for you, but incorrectly completed forms are a frequent reason filings get rejected, and the paperwork help alone is worth the appointment.5Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, Palm Beach County.
