PG County Parking Tickets: Pay, Contest, Boots, and Fines

A Prince George’s County parking ticket gives you 30 days to pay the original fine or 25 days to request a hearing in writing. Miss both deadlines and the fine doubles, then quadruples, and the county can place a hold on your vehicle registration.

Paying the Ticket

The Revenue Authority collects parking fines. You have three ways to pay, and all of them need the citation number printed on the ticket.1Prince George’s County. Parking Violations

  • Online at princegeorgescountymd.rmcpay.com with a credit or debit card. A $2.75 processing fee applies.
  • By phone at 855-743-2090, same card options and same $2.75 fee.
  • In person at 1300 Mercantile Lane, Suite 108, Largo, MD 20774. Debit cards, credit cards, money orders, and cashier’s checks are accepted. Cash is not.

You can also mail a check or money order payable to Prince George’s County to the Mercantile Lane address. Write the citation number on the check. Mail takes time to process, so send it well before day 30.

Contesting the Ticket

If you think the citation was issued in error, you can request a hearing in the District Court of Maryland for Prince George’s County. The written request must reach the Revenue Authority within 25 days of the citation date, and it must include the citation number along with your name and mailing address.1Prince George’s County. You’ll receive a notice with your court date, location, and time about 30 days before the hearing.1Prince George’s County. Bring witnesses and any evidence that helps, such as photographs of missing signage or the location where the vehicle was parked.2Maryland Courts. Traffic

The judge’s decision replaces the original citation. If the court finds you responsible, pay whatever amount the judge orders. Miss the 25-day window and you lose the right to contest.

Looking Up a Ticket

Lost the physical citation, or not sure whether a ticket was issued? The county’s plate checker at pgc.myparkinginfo.com searches open violations by license plate and state of registration and returns the citation number you’ll need. What Happens If You Don’t Pay

The county also notifies the Maryland MVA to place a hold on your vehicle’s record, which blocks registration renewal until every outstanding fine is paid. When the County Boots or Tows

A vehicle with two or more outstanding parking or traffic violations can be booted or towed, and so can any vehicle with a single fine unpaid for more than 90 days.3Municode Library. Police-initiated tows run $215. Revenue Authority or private-property tows cost $175 for vehicles under 10,000 pounds. Storage runs $50 per day starting after the first 18 hours.5Prince George’s County. Resident Vehicle Tow Documents and FAQs

Getting a Towed Vehicle Back

Bring your title or registration and a photo ID showing you’re the registered owner to any Prince George’s County police station.6Prince George’s County. My Car Has Been Impounded In Prince George’s County – What Information Will I Need To Obtain a Vehicle Release If someone else is picking it up for you, they need an original signed and notarized authorization from you plus their own photo ID.

Getting a Boot Removed

You’ll need to pay all outstanding tickets plus a boot removal fee before the device comes off. Check pgc.mybootinfo.com for your balance, or call the Revenue Authority at 855-743-2090.
