For a standard (non-REAL ID) license, bring proof of identity and your Social Security number.

For a REAL ID, bring one proof of identity that shows your full name and date of birth, your Social Security number, and two separate documents proving California residency.4California DMV. REAL ID Checklist

Acceptable identity documents include a valid U.S. passport, an original or certified U.S. birth certificate from a city, county, or state vital statistics office, a valid permanent resident card, or a certificate of naturalization.
