Wes Watson’s charges span three cases in two states: a 2010 California conviction for robbery, burglary, and assault that sent him to prison for nine years; a 2025 Miami-Dade felony battery case tied to a viral gym attack; and a March 2026 Broward County arrest on five counts, including robbery by sudden snatching and false imprisonment, stemming from allegations he beat his girlfriend.

According to the Hallandale Beach police report, the incident happened on Sunday, March 15, 2026, after Watson became angry that his girlfriend had attended a Miami Heat game without him in a shirt he felt showed too much cleavage. He allegedly restrained her, shook and struck her, applied pressure to her neck, threw her to the ground, dragged her by the hair, and slammed her head into a table. Officers documented a cut and scratch on her face and bruises on her body. She told police Watson threatened to kill her and her family, saying that if he went to jail, “something bad is going to happen to you, all your friends, and your family.” The false imprisonment count is tied to allegations that Watson had his security guard block her from leaving while a friend searched her phone.2Local 10 News. As of late March 2026, Watson remained in custody in Broward County. Available reporting does not say whether his bond in the earlier Miami-Dade case was revoked after the new arrest.1Local 10 News. Video Shows Domestic Violence Arrest of Fitness Influencer Wes Watson
2025 Miami-Dade Gym Assault Case
Watson was arrested on April 29, 2025, over an altercation on December 29, 2024, at Elev8tion Fitness, a Miami gym at 1625 N. Miami Ave. that he co-owns. The initial charges were aggravated battery and aggravated assault, and an arrest report identified Watson as the “primary aggressor” in an attack by four men on Hakeem Ibrahim.3Miami Herald. On May 22, 2025, the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office issued “no action” notices on both of those charges, effectively dropping them. A reduced count of felony battery remained, with a hearing scheduled for July 28, 2025. Watson was released on a $2,500 bond and ordered to stay away from the victim.3Miami Herald. A separate civil suit is also moving. Ibrahim filed a 57-page complaint on March 26, 2025, in Dade County Court against Watson, co-owner Nicholas Dellis, and the Elev8tion Fitness corporate entities. He alleges he was lured to the gym after Watson posted an open challenge on social media and was then beaten with a weightlifting belt and dumbbells while racial slurs and death threats were made. Surveillance footage reportedly shows a man being kicked, dragged by the hair, and struck while pinned to the ground.3Miami Herald. Watson’s legal team responded on June 6, 2025, denying wrongdoing and asserting self-defense and defense of others. The response argues Ibrahim “consented to the alleged physical contact” by showing up at the gym after Watson’s open social media challenge. Watson is demanding a jury trial. A calendar call in the civil case was set for August 6, 2026, with depositions ongoing through mid-2026.4Unicourt. Ibrahim v. Watson, Dade County Court
