Who Alliance Covers in Those Counties

Coverage falls into three groups. Tailored Plan members are Medicaid recipients who meet health criteria for complex needs. State-funded recipients are uninsured or underinsured residents who need behavioral health or disability services. Medicaid Direct beneficiaries receive behavioral health or disability-related care outside the Tailored Plan.7Alliance Health. Alliance Health Homepage

For the Tailored Plan, eligibility is driven by medical need rather than income. A person must be enrolled in NC Medicaid, and the state reviews whether they meet criteria that include serious mental illness, severe substance use disorders, intellectual or developmental disabilities, or traumatic brain injuries.3NC DHHS Medicaid.
