Why There’s No White Settlement Inmate Lookup

The White Settlement Police Department runs a holding facility at 8900 Clifford Street, reachable at 817-246-7070. Its job is booking and processing, not long-term custody.2City of White Settlement. Holding Facility Jail Texas minimum jail standards define a holding cell as temporary detention not to exceed 48 hours, and state law requires that an arrested person be brought before a magistrate within that same 48-hour window.3Texas Commission on Jail Standards. Minimum Jail Standards

Arraignments at the facility are generally held daily, usually in the morning. A judge reads the charges, informs the person of their rights, and sets a bond.2City of White Settlement. Holding Facility Jail If the charge is a Class B misdemeanor or higher, the arraignment has happened, the District Attorney has accepted the case, and the bond has not been posted, the person is moved to the Tarrant County Jail at 100 N. Lamar Street in Fort Worth.4City of White Settlement. Prisoner Releases Because the holding facility is temporary, it does not publish an inmate list. In the first hours after an arrest, calling the department directly at 817-246-7070 is often the only way to confirm someone is there.

Searching the Tarrant County Jail

Once the transfer happens, the person shows up in the county system. There are three ways to look:

  • Daily booked-in reports covering the last 14 days of intake are posted as PDFs on the Sheriff’s Detention Bureau page. They aren’t searchable by arresting agency, so you’ll need to scroll.6Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. Daily Booked In Reports

The county warns that the online data is a public service and may not be perfectly current, so anything you plan to rely on in a legal matter should be confirmed against official records.1Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. Inmate Search The general county operator is 817-884-1111.

One boundary worth knowing: if the person you’re looking for was sentenced to state prison rather than held in a county jail, they won’t appear in the Tarrant County system.
