The Yerington DMV does not have its own public phone number. Nevada routes every branch call through regional centers, so for Yerington and the rest of northern Nevada you call (775) 684-4368. That line covers the Reno, Sparks, and Carson City service region, which includes the Lyon County office at 215 West Bridge Street, Suite 9, Yerington, NV 89447.1Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. How To Book an Appointment
Nevada schedules DMV appointments through a system called WaitWell. The DMV steers you first to its DriveNV platform, where you create an account, choose your service, upload document scans for staff to pre-review, and then pick a time at the Yerington office.4Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles – Appointments If you’d rather skip the document upload, you can book directly at yeringtondmv.waitwell.us. Drive tests use a separate scheduling link.
After you check in, WaitWell texts you when your turn is close, so you don’t have to sit in the lobby the whole time.5Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. New Appointment System Launched at all Offices
Try Online Before You Call
A lot of what people call the DMV about can be handled on the website without an appointment at all.6Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. Online Services The online portal covers:
- Vehicle registration renewal, including off-highway vehicles
- Driver’s license or ID card renewal, if you’re eligible
- Address changes for your license and vehicle records at once
- Duplicate license, permit, ID card, registration, or decal
- Plate surrender and registration cancellation
- Turbo Titles for a new or duplicate Nevada title
- Insurance updates and suspension reinstatement
- Personalized plate searches and orders

What To Bring for a REAL ID
If you’re going in for a REAL ID driver’s license or ID card, bring documents from four categories. Missing one means a return trip.7Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. Proof of Identity and Residency Requirements
- Proof of identity (one): valid U.S. passport, certified birth certificate, certificate of naturalization, certificate of citizenship, or permanent resident card
- Proof of Social Security number (one): your Social Security card, a W-2, an IRS Form 1099, or a printed pay stub showing your full name and complete SSN
- Proof of Nevada residential address (two): utility bills, bank statements, lease agreements, pay stubs, or voter registration cards, originals or certified copies dated within 60 days, showing a physical address rather than a P.O. box
- Proof of all name changes, if your current legal name differs from your identity document: marriage certificates, divorce decrees, or court orders covering each change
Printouts from online bank or utility accounts count as originals. If you aren’t sure a document qualifies, call (775) 684-4368 before driving over.
